How to get to the fairgrounds?

EXPONOR takes place in the Fairground and Community Activities of the Industrial Association of Antofagasta, located in the northern area of Antofagasta, specifically in Pedro Aguirre Cerda 17101, Sector La Portada, on Route 1, which connects Antofagasta and Mejillones.

Shuttle buses for visitors

The EXPONOR organization will provide the visitor shuttle service from the city centre (Plaza Colón) to the EXPONOR site round trip whose cost was $3,000*, according to the following schedules:

*Payment for your trip can only be made by Debit/Credit Card at the time of boarding the bus.

By private vehicle

If you travel from Antofagasta to EXPONOR, you should take Route 1 north and take the La Portada link, moving west. Then there are two options to get to the event: follow the road to La Portada to enter through the secondary access also called “Entrada Mar”. The other option is to turn onto the local street of Route 1 towards Antofagasta to enter through the main access also called “Cerro Entrance".

Public transport

Antofagasta's public transport is made up of taxis, shared taxis and buses with a capacity of up to thirty people. This service is known as TransAntofagasta and covers the transportation needs of the general population from north to south. The cost of a bus ticket per passenger is CLP 600 or USD 0.63 (dollar reference value is $950).

Bus line 103 reaches the Exhibition Grounds. It 103 operates daily, and the regular schedule is: 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Its frequency varies between 4 and 8 minutes.

However, depending on the location of your accommodation, there may be combinations with other bus lines, such as line 119. Bus line 119 operates daily with a regular schedule from 6:00 a.m. - 10:56 p.m.

Bus line 103

Bus line 103 (Huáscar) has 46 stops from El Coihue Avenue/Terminal 103 to Terminal 103 South.

Bus Line 119

Bus line 119 (Av. Pedro Aguirre Cerda roundabout) has 35 stops from Universidad de Antofagasta (Terminal 119 South) to El Zafiro/ Sierra Nevada (Terminal 119 North).

Private transportation

The following mobile applications operate in the city, whose rates are established when the user confirms the route (reference price: between CLP15,000 and CLP25,000 / USD 15 – USD 25).

Transportation in smaller vehicles consists of types of taxi, such as:

Basic taxi: service for trips whose origin and destination is decided by the passenger who uses it. They have taxi ranks and the vehicles are painted yellow and black. In the city of Antofagasta, this service is charged exclusively through a taximeter.

Shared taxi: service only covers previously established routes. The vehicles are black and have a numbered sign on the roof of the vehicle, indicating the service and the route.

Executive taxi: an offshoot of the basic taxi, it only covers trips requested remotely, by telephone or internet, and cannot pick up fares on public roads. They are mainly identified by their orange license plate with black letters. This service is charged exclusively through a taximeter.

Tourist taxi: service mainly intended for passengers of hotels, airports and others, aimed at tourists. These vehicles operate with a conventional rate and do not use a taximeter. The vehicles are blue and have an orange license plate with white letters.

 

Cost of taxi ride from the airport:

All official transport services at the Andres Sabella International Airport in Antofagasta have a service desk at the exit of the national and international arrivals area. Official services provide transport to and from the airport. 

We recommend using only official transport. You can hire these services at the counters located in the baggage claim room, and at its exit.

Parking lots

The Fairground and Community Activities Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta has a capacity of four thousand parking spaces enabled for its exhibitors and visitors.

Parking costs CLP2,000 and lasts for the whole day (only cash).

Parking management was in charge of Antofagasta Fire Brigade.
