Albemarle is a mining company allied with Chile in the sustainable development of this metal, which, among other things, contributes to electromobility.
Chile is the second-largest producer of lithium in the world and 100% of its production is in the Antofagasta Region, which shows the importance of the regional capital in the country's mining economy, as it is the main exporting region and contributes 54% of national mining production.
Albemarle and SQM are companies that operate from Antofagasta and are two of the largest lithium producers in the world. Lithium is a fundamental metal for the development of new technologies and the implementation of electromobility, which will reduce the emission of gases and so combat climate change.

Today Albemarle is focused on what it calls "the new era of lithium", a concept that dictates a series of measures to make this industry more sustainable. One of them is a contract with the State, which has meant new revenue in benefit of the country; also an agreement with the Council of Atacameñan Peoples and their communities, and the development of innovations that contribute to its processes, such as, for example, making desalinated seawater available to the Atacama salt flats basin, among others.
As a strategic partner of EXPONOR, it will be present at the next exhibition, which will be held from June 3 to 6, at stand No. 34 in Outdoor Zone B, to discover what the market offers and the new operational and cost optimization technologies.
