Commitment, collaboration and joint work were the conclusions of the meeting Together, we create opportunities for everyone through EXPONOR 2024, which brought together local suppliers and public and private players from the Antofagasta Region to coordinate every detail for the 20th edition of this international exhibition, to be held in June of next year.
It is an opportunity that allows us to add synergy to provide excellence when we receive and attend each of the national and international visitors who come to Antofagasta to meet and interact with the main mining companies, large suppliers and, of course, with our local companies.
“EXPONOR is the result of work by all of us in our region, that is why it is so important that as key players of this international event, we participate in collaborative work, which will result in success for the local and regional communities, given its international projection as a host”, said Marko Razmilic, President of the Antofagasta Industrial Association, AIA.
Preparation for EXPONOR contributes over US$2.5 million through the acquisition of products and services that are vital for the successful outcome of the exhibition; an investment that reactivates the regional economy, and is part of a much larger amount of resources that remain in the region, due to accommodation required by exhibitors and visitors.
“EXPONOR is the great exhibition that showcases the Antofagasta Region to the world. We are looking to internationalize our region, with recognition of its potential in clean energy, sustainable mining, and in the development of astronomy and logistics. And this is a great opportunity to highlight our strengths as a region and also business for everyone, artisans, the tourism network, entrepreneurs. Let's all work to make EXPONOR great”, said Ricardo Díaz, Regional Governor.
This day that had an outstanding and wide-ranging attendance by the Regional Government, the local supplier companies, the Municipality of Antofagasta, the Association of Municipalities of the Region of Antofagasta, the regional ministerial secretariats of National Assets and the Economy, the Armed Forces and forces of Public Order, congressman José Miguel Castro, together with the Regional Artisan Bureau and representatives of the mining companies, among others.
Cultural convention
EXPONOR seeks to make foreign and domestic visitors aware of our roots and culture. Because of this, indigenous people from the Antofagasta Region have participated in several editions of our international exhibition, who have the opportunity to market their works and so promote our culture.
So, an agreement was once again signed between EXPONOR and the Regional Bureau of Producing Artisans, in a commitment to this creative and talented activity. “This commitment opens opportunities within the large mining industry and the country to a sector that uses the arts to show its cultural and material heritage, and brings representatives from the nine counties of the territory to present themselves at EXPONOR. The best of our territory shown to the world, through EXPONOR”, said Miguel Silva, President of the Regional Board.
