- With less than a year to go before its launch, EXPONOR is already generating high expectations among companies, suppliers, authorities and professionals in the mining, energy and industrial sectors. This international exhibition, one of the most important in the field, will bring together hundreds of exhibitors from Chile and the world, who are already refining their proposals to present state-of-the-art technological solutions, specialised services and tangible progress in sustainability.
With over 32 countries represented, EXPONOR has established itself as one of the most important international events, where commercial relationships are established with mining giants from Europe, Asia and North America.
EXPONOR 2026 will be a key showcase for highlighting the transformation the industry is undergoing, marked by digitalization, automation and environmental challenges. Faced with this scenario, Boris Medina, president of Minera El Abra, one of the exhibition’s strategic partners, comments on the technological advances they have applied in their operations,
"we are executing a decarbonization plan that includes the use of certified 100% renewable energy in the production processes, which was validated with I-REC certification for the second consecutive year in 2024".
Jaime Rivera, general manager of Mantos Blancos, a Capstone Copper operation, another EXPONOR partner company, highlights that during 2024 they reached 50% energy use from renewable sources.
"Our goal is for our entire energy supply to be 100% renewable by 2028, which implies technical and logistical challenges related to the integration of these sources and their implementation in our operations without affecting production continuity," adds Rivera.
The organisers' perspective
For her part, Andrea Moreno, EXPONOR manager, highlights the role that the exhibition plays in the evolution of the sector.
"EXPONOR has established itself as a strategic platform for innovation, showcasing new technological developments and strengthening commercial ties in the mining and energy industry. Our challenge for 2026 is to continue connecting the main global actors with the opportunities offered by Chile."
The event will feature technical visits, site visits, networking after office, seminars and business roundtables, special activities that seek to connect key industry players with new development opportunities.
Domestic industry for the international market
Schwager, which has contributed to the development of Chile for over 165 years, and has been a key player in large-scale mining for a decade, states that "we decided to participate because EXPONOR is not just a showcase, it's a platform for real connection with the industry, with customers, suppliers and entities who, like us, are building the energy and productive future of our country and the continent."
Rivet, an exhibitor at the exhibition, has been providing quality services and essential products since 1907, which led it to expand its operations to Peru. Rivet refers to the exhibition as "the most important meeting point of the mining-industrial ecosystem to accelerate the adoption of technologies that solve the great challenges of the sector: operational continuity, energy efficiency and emission reduction."
