With the participation of fifty companies already confirmed, making it the second-largest delegation after China that will be present from June 3 to 6 in Antofagasta and the first to be completed, Germany is preparing to participate in EXPONOR 2024. The number of exhibitor companies could increase, given the high demand by German companies to attend.
“We currently have over 1000 square metres and over 50 exhibitors for this version of EXPONOR, and are one of the largest Country Pavilions. This high demand is due to the great interest that German suppliers have in Chile and vice versa. Germany is a supplier of key technologies for different national industries, with mining and energy being key sectors in this area", said Iris Wunderlich, Project Leader Mining & Sustainability | AHK Chile, Chilean-German Chamber of Commerce, organizers of the German Pavilion.
According to Wunderlich, the high interest in participating is due to the ideal geographical conditions of our country, "which are optimal for renewable generation and for developing a green hydrogen industry, in addition to the geological conditions for the sustainable development of the mineral resources necessary for global energy transition and decarbonization”.
Key role
Under this logic, Germany and its companies play an important role in driving the energy transition, making innovative technologies and solutions available, positioning them as one of the leaders in mining-energy development.
To continue on this path, the executive in charge of the pavilion emphasized, the European giant requires the mineral resources that Chile is able to provide, such as lithium, in order to continue driving the new storage and electromobility technologies. "Thus, a natural connection is established, with virtuous synergies between both countries. Therefore, German industry is happy to accept Chile's invitation, and especially to EXPONOR, to continue strengthening our ties in 2024," she said.
Thus, German suppliers, who traditionally offer high-quality products for the solution of technological challenges, see EXPONOR as an ideal platform to showcase new technologies, machinery, equipment and highly specialized, efficient and safe technological solutions for the mining and/or energy industry, where sustainability and efficiency, whether regarding energy or water, seeks to contribute to more sustainable mining.
