GUEST COUNTRY 2026: CANADA

Therefore, Canada has participated in EXPONOR since its inception, presenting Canadian mining supplier companies and creating networks and commercial bridges between our nations. However, the upcoming 2026 version will be special for us, as we are honored to be, for the first time, the Guest Country at the EXPONOR 2026 exhibition. For the Embassy of Canada, this is a reflection of the years of collaborative work we have been doing.

I trust that there will be further opportunities for us to continue to strengthen our collaboration, with the premise of the common interest of Canada and Chile in promoting the integral development of the mining sector, with innovative business practices and cutting-edge technologies, compatible with care for the environment and that contribute to the prosperity of the Antofagasta Region and its people.

In addition, we are very pleased to know that the management of this initiative is in the hands of women, which supports a central theme within the Canadian mining progress plan. I am referring to the promotion of female participation in the mining industry, particularly in decision-making roles in this industry. This shows the great contributions that professional, technical and administrative women can make to innovation, sustainable development and the search for solutions, among other contributions to the industry.

I thank the Antofagasta Industrial Association, AIA, for its continued work in strengthening ties with Canada, and I congratulate them for the regional leadership with this successful exhibition that every two years brings together tens of thousands of people and companies that seek to generate opportunities in the mining and energy sector.

With all the above, I am confident that the 2026 version of EXPONOR will bring with it ample possibilities and, as the guest country, we offer our willingness, enthusiasm and expertise to support strengthening and creating new alliances for the sustainable development of mining.
