With two months to go, EXPONOR 2024 starts its countdown to receive thousands of people from all corners of the world and has established itself as a key instance to promote the Growth Agenda, stimulating new investment and business opportunities.
Its impact has been such that "we have had to expand pavilions, and currently have over one thousand exhibitors, far surpassing our previous estimates," said Andrea Moreno, EXPONOR Manager.
According to the executive, this is not only due to the region’s comparative advantage as it is the most important area in the world in the mining sector, in which according to data from the SONAMI, it is expected to execute mining projects of the order of US$ 65.7 billion by 2032, driving dynamism in other industries such as energy, green hydrogen, desalination and services, among others, which shows the great potential of being present at this gathering.
A la fecha, explica Moreno, “A third of our exhibitors are foreign companies and as of today we officially have fifteen international pavilions, with China being the largest participant with over one hundred companies, followed by Germany –which doubled its number of participating companies-, the United States, Canada, Australia, Peru, Italy, Spain, France, New Zealand, Switzerland and Poland, among others," Moreno said.”.
The organization is currently focusing its work on the participation of technical visitors, who come to see on site the latest advances brought by national and foreign exhibitors.
Brazil, guest country
In 2024, Brazil will be the protagonist, being the first South American country to be the EXPONOR guest of honour, thus ensuring that one of the main economic and commercial powers in the world can further strengthen existing business ties with our country, especially with the productive sectors that will be in Antofagasta.
“They are currently our third-largest business partner, after China and the United States, in addition to being the main Latin American investor, and important Brazilian companies, especially mining-related, will be present. That is why we decided that in this version they would have a prominent role, which translated into our visit to Belo Horizonte as an organization last year, all with a view to preparing their attendance", emphasized Moreno.

For the executive in charge of the event, held every two years in the mining nucleus of Chile, this strong international presence is a clear sign of the importance of the Antofagasta Region and EXPONOR, as the engine and driver of the productive chain and the platform to show and discover the latest advances aimed at the mining sector.
“We are not only a strategic source of information about future investment, but we are the only space where we can share on site with companies and exhibitors. We have a complete program of activities, aimed precisely at generating opportunities, along with strengthening and concretizing business networks nationally and internationally", said the EXPONOR Manager.

- Visits to 8 mine sites, with a tour of the operational areas, seeing their main challenges on site and thus, their potential customers, identifying possible solutions and business opportunities.
- Technical visits by professionals, executives and workers from different companies.
- 130 Technical talks, in which supplier companies present their goods and services.
- 2.000 business roundtables, face-to-face interactions between company representatives.
