The road to EXPONOR 2024 featuring a strong international presence

The exhibition was recently in Peru and in November it will be in Brazil, thus concluding its successful 2023 international tour, whose stand booking stage has reached more than 65% sold out..

After the change of year and calendar, EXPONOR was able to be present with a stand at PERUMIN, the Peruvian mining convention and exhibition held in Arequipa at the end of last month, and thanks to the alliance between the Antofagasta Industrial Association, AIA, and the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru, it was possible to promote our next exhibition from 3 to 6 June 2024 and to attend in situ to the queries and interests of Peruvian companies for the Chilean market.

Our mission was to visit the foreign exhibitors that participated in the exhibition, where we focused on strengthening and building up relations with the companies in the pavilions of Germany, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Argentina, Switzerland and China, which were also part of this trade show. At the same time, we searched for goods and services companies with a differentiating offer, which could make a contribution to Chile's mining and energy industry", explained Alicia Reyes, EXPONOR's Director of International Promotion, who was in charge of making these business contacts.

She added that Peru is a key market for EXPONOR, given its geographical proximity to Chile and the possibilities for marketing with local companies. Furthermore, PERUMIN brings together suppliers from different latitudes and visitors from the sector and the world, which enables a bilateral alliance to be forged.

This route to EXPONOR 2024 started last March at PDAC in Toronto, Canada, which kicked off what will be the next exhibition, exhibiting and promoting the opportunities that Chile, especially the Antofagasta Region, represents in the mining and energy sector at the various mining fairs. Subsequently, she returned to Canada to be present at the CIM EXPO, from 30 April to 3 May, in Montreal.

In May, she attended ARMINERA, Argentina's International Mining Exhibition, where strong links were forged with the trans-Andean market. Between 31 October and 2 November, she will be at IMARC, International Mining and Resources Conference, in Sydney, Australia. At the end of the same month, the AIA will make its first official visit to Brazil, Guest Country of EXPONOR 2024, to meet with various institutions as part of the work plan with the Carioca nation.

A lot of work has been done in these last months of the year, which has meant that 65% of the stands have already been sold, with an estimated participation of 10 countries in the Country Pavilion format, plus a high percentage of national reservations.

Nacional route

Similarly, presence at national trade fairs has been prioritised, such as EXPOMIN last April, and at other energy, water and green hydrogen fairs held in the Metropolitan Region between June and October, with the aim of attracting new exhibitors, visitors and investors to the Antofagasta Region, especially to the Energy and Green Hydrogen Pavilion.

With this aim in mind, EXPONOR will soon have a stand at the Regional Development Forum, FOREDE, in the Atacama Region, Copiapó, between 24 and 26 October. In parallel, a face-to-face seminar is being considered in southern Chile for companies interested in providing services to the industry in Antofagasta.
