High expectations for business:

At the last version of Exponor, Brazilian companies generated around US$ 30 million in business and prospects for the following 12 months; they have reaffirmed their interest in participating in this year’s exhibition. With Chile’s most important mining show in 2017 coming up fast, the countries participating in the 12 international pavilions continue to show their interest in the network of opportunities offered by the exhibition. This is the case for Brazil, which will bring a group of 20 companies to Exponor, many of them from the mining equipment and machinery manufacturing sector. The participation of the South American giant is being organized by the Brazil Machinery Solutions Program, created by the association between the Brazilian Agency for Export and Import Promotion (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Machinery and Equipment Industry Association (ABIMAQ). “Our industry is well-recognized for its competitiveness and technology in Chile and other countries in the Americas. We are leaders in machinery and equipment for the diverse stages of production in mining. At this year’s Exponor, we hope to present to international buyers the quality of our machinery and equipment for applications at all stages, from extraction to processing, minerals transportation and others”, explained Marcel Carlotei, Commercial Promotion Manager of ABIMAQ. The figures resulting from the commercial relationship between Chile and Brazil are a great incentive to Brazilians: our country is the second largest purchaser of machinery and equipment, destined for the cement and mining industries. In 2016, Chile was second only to the United States in Brazilian exports of these goods. According to Exponor Expo Manager Andrea Moreno, “Brazil’s participation reflects the interest that the show arouses at the international level. An exhibition of this scale allows for important business deals to be carried out and relationships to be built. Having a strategic partner in Latin America of the size and relevance of Brazil is exciting for us, because they have a very solid range of machinery for the mining industry”. Exponor 2017 will take place from May 15th to 19th at the AIA event ground, with the United States as guest nation. The activity has the support and participation of important actors in the sector, such as Antofagasta Minerals, Minera El Abra, Codelco, Minera Escondida, SQM, Yamana Gold and the Supplier Qualification System (SICEP). Its sponsors are: the Mining Council, Sonami, Sofofa, Aprimin, Corfo, the Chilean Government, the Ministry of Mining, the Ministry for the Economy, Development and Tourism, Pro Chile, Direcon and the Regional Government. Its press partners are the magazine Minería Chilena, El Nortero and Radio Bío-bío. Published: 12.04.2017
